Yep you're reading this right...its a racket and Ford and is not ponying up to fix the problem. There are several class action lawsuits pending.

Couldn't you avoid this problem by changing your plugs every year yourself?

Change them once and install the newer plugs and the problem is solved.

I know that champion makes a plug that's a one piece has anyone install them on there f150

I read on someones post to not use the Champion plugs...something to do with the amount of spark output.

I changed my spark plugs out at my 100k miles mark and none broke. I spend about 70 bucks on spark plugs and spent about hour and a half to do them. I have the 2008 5.4 flex

We must be cheaper than I thought. I just did an 2004 and broke 3 plugs, guy left with a $650 bill.

2008 have the updated plugs, lets hope you didn't break any.

It depends if the back plugs break usually they charge more if they break its a pain to get out
Yea 08 don't have that problem

X2, I had a dealership do mine and quite a few other things while in there as well for the 100,000 mile service and walked out with a bill just under 500 and had none of them break(from what they told me). They inturn told me when they replaced the plugs they put one piece plugs in.
