Mine was $150 less at a local mechanic and they broke 2 as well.

If you know anyone that works at a dealership talk to them and see if they can do it on the side. Found out after the fact that there was a guy nearby that would do it for $300, but if one breaks and he cant get it out your screwed.

The guy told me the main reason it was so high was because of labor ($600) and one of the ones that broke was, of course, the hardest one to get to.

I'd like to ask, what kind of shape were they in? My '04 is at 60K and although it runs great, I've been thinking about getting it over with now. But then again, I only put 6K on the truck each year (it's not my daily driver) so it could be years before the engine hits 100K. Like I said...the truck runs fine.

Regardless, how did they look? I've seen pictures here that had many more miles on them and the electrode was completely gone.

I drive a company truck so my truck sits alot but I didn't want my truck to get more miles without changing the plugs the more miles you put the more your at risk that they break

But as soon as I put Motorcraft plugs in I noticed a big difference in the ride it ran much smoother and the throttle response is quicker and at idle you cant tell the trucks is on
