Spark Plug Blowout Issue...
#11
Just to clarify my prior messege. 08 f150 4.6L Triton. I had a plug blowout while driving to work yesterday. All original parts (spark plugs, ignition coil and head) No work has ever been done to my engine. All maintenance performed per Ford schedule. Again, a blown out sprak plug. Really bad design by Ford. Will send my letter off this weekend to attempt to get my money back. The dealer put in a helicoil to fix the head. The class action lawsuit, i will admit is a little over the top, but if there are enough people who are having this problem. I could see a lawyer starting one.

Devil's advocate
Wow that sucks, I had a bad feeling about it even after it was supposed to be fixed. Mine better not do it, I refuse to have a vehicle with spark plug problems.

I had a spark plug blowout on my '01 Excursion. I used a kit I purchased on eBay. I actually did the repair today and it went perfectly. The kit was 158 bucks on eBay with free shipping, 210.00 at Advance Auto. It actually comes with 8 helicoils for future use also. Here is what I used: Marson 98140T - Ford Triton Spark Plug Saver/Repair Kit

Also available at http://www.tooltopia.com/marson-98140t.aspx for even less! ($151.99 free shipping!)
I just ordered one since my 5.4 just blew out the Ford Dealer Installed timesert kit that was repaired two months ago on cylinder number 3. AAA just picked up the truck to take it back to Sarasota Ford so they can fix their repair.
I might pull both heads and do all 7 of the other holes with my new Marson kit. I like this truck too much to give it up to this design flaw.
First post! Woohoo! Hi all!
