Default Sound System ideas?

I need some opinions for speakers, subs, radio, and amps. I have a stock radio in my 04 Lariat, and I want a better one. Also my speakers a cracking more and more everyday. I can't decided on a specific subwoofer or amp. Ideas?

Well I have a pioneer avh5500bhs in dash reciever. Has built in bluetooth, Pandora, plays dvds, ipod functions work great as well. For speakers I have focal PS 165 component speakers and focal 5x7's in the rear. For a sub I picked up a focal 10". For amps I have a kenwood exceleon 500.1 running the sub and running the interiors I have a alpine ktp-445u. I was able to fit the alpine behind the dash under the radio and the sub amp under the passenger seat. I picked up a underseat sub box and the fit well under the back seat. All in all it sounds excellent doesn't take up much space and didn't cost a butt load of money. Picked up most of the equipment on ebay.

Speakers, subs and amps are all available for good prices on Amazon. Infinity speakers are some of the better ones.
For the head unit, take a look at Crutchfield.com. You can txt, email or talk via phone. Tell them what your wish list is and they will make recommendations for you.
If you buy from them they provide vehicle specific installation material and first class instructions.
You can buy the head units cheaper - without any service tho.

I kept the stock nav head unit, added kicker component speakers up front, kicker coaxials in the doors and a custom single 10" sub box by Rodney's boxes driven by a 300w JBL amp under the rear seat. I'm quite happy with it. Stereo components are personal preference. My setup is great for me but the younger generation probably would find it too tame.

I did mine for under a grand, all off ebay. 2 10 inch alpine e series in a box that fits under the rear seat, 4 6.5" kicker component sets, alpine 5 channel amp that fits perfectly into the back of the center console where the rear cup holders were, and a 2 din touch screen dvd(china crap but not bad). I had to trim the doors for the speakers so you might want to got with the factory size but the 6.5s sound great.

Got a pioneer AVH-P1400DVD, they got newer models out now, but still $300

Good clean sound, good bass and plenty of power. Used the 80 dollar capacitor wire kit from walmart as well.

I just don't want to go over $700 or $800 for sure. I don't know where I would put my sub at, because I have a SuperCab, so I have backseats.
