Default Soft Tonneau Cleaner/Protector

Whats everyone's recommendation to use for cleaning and protecting my soft tonneau cover? Most people say Marine 303 and it looks good to me but $15 a bottle is kind of expensive. Just wondering what everyone else on here uses.

I use the regular 303 and works great on mine. It's not that expensive if you figure one bottle you can treat your cover like 20 times, and you do it once every 2 months.

Does that 303 run down the sides of the truck when it rains?

I use simple green to clean it and that's it. Been on for 2 years and just now small cracks are showing. I only spent $99 shipped on it so ince it goes, it goes. I will get another el-cheapo to replace it.

No, but you don't really need to use that much. If you overdo it then yes I can see it running and you really need to remove all the excess.

The directions say if it streaks, your using too much. It's just a light coating, one spray from the bottle can cover 4 sqft probably................

For cleaning I use mild soap the same as I use for the truck. But on the cover I use a very soft bristle brush so that I can get into the little grooves of the surface. Then let it dry and follow up with 303. I have also used mild Ivory soap to clean. Same that I use on my leather seats.

How long have both of you been using these methods and how does the cover look?

Used my method on my previous truck and cover still looked new after five years. Have only had this truck for a couple months. Method will not change.

Also be careful what you choose as if you use something that will soften the top it will stretch easier and eventually be one of those you see that flaps in the wind.

Well Lund recommended just mild soap and water but that won't protect, only clean. They said for sure nothing oil based.
