So this is my Truck, what would you do
Im down to 2 things now, Im not sure if I want to go with a billet grille and chrome wheels or order a black saleen grille, smoke the head and tail lights, and order a machined wheel. I have chrome bumpers and bar but I kinda thought the black would really stand out. Also what do you guys like in the wheel market these days. Also if I go for a billet grille do you get a lay over or new grille. Im worried with a layover you will see the tan honeycom through it. Let me know what you guys think

You mentioned doing smoke headlights and bumpers. Although your truck is white and mine black I thought I'd pass on some photos of simple things you can do with black to change the appearance.

personaly I really like the saleen grille's, I wish they made them to fit 2011.........
|
I think you should stay with the chrome. As far as wheels, there are hundreds to choose from and everybody has their preference. I personally like pro comp wheels and have a set of pro comp 6015 20" wheels and love them. Also, if you stick with chrome, you can get chrome covers for the door handle lever( and leave the bucket black) and get chrome mirror caps. And for a billet grille, get a full replacement grille. My truck came with a chrome insert grille and you can see the tan honeycomb and it doesnt look good.

Nice truck Mac...you need to do something with the running boards
|
What would I do? I'd put that great looking dog in the passenger side and go for a ride into the countryside.
|
I would trade it for a black scab.
|
chrome wheels for sure if you are doing wheels, but i like it how it is, enjoy it now
|
if you ditch the chrome and go black hardware it might look more like a work truck... personally i think your truck already looks great. ....however, i am not a huge fan of the wind deflectors on the windows and pinstripe but hey, its YOUR truck not mine.
on a side note, i always get this itch to murder out my truck or do something crazy to it, but at the end of the day i think of costs involved vs having an old 2004 with 140k miles on it. ...if i could really afford to modify it, i'd probably get a new truck first. here is a link to my garage if you want to check mine out https://www.f150forum.com/dto_garage...hicle_id=10900 |
intake (cai or gotts), borla exhaust, cts programmer, level, 35 trail grapplers on 20 fueloctane wheels, full billet grille (upper and lower) and get the whole grille not just an overlay, bigger lights on bull bar, HIDs in all lights, touch screen head unit, new fosgate mids a tweater, 2 10" fosgate subs, 1000 watt amp, that should keep ya busy for a while

Lift and storm trooper it out
|
It ia leveled off 2.5" and the sound system is already done

O and the main reason Im wanting new wheels is not because I dont like mine, the passenger side centers are peeled off and bubbled and just look awful. Ford wants 60 bucks a pop for them so I figured why not just get new wheels and spice it up a bit more. It does go in for new exhaust manifolds next week. Not really expecting any gains there but it will eliminate that awful tick noise since they are cracked. Since they are cracked now do you guys think they may be robbing some mpgs and power? I really didnt know

Personally, I'm a fan of a good amount of flat semigloss black with just a little bit of chrome as accents. You already have the chrome part with the push bar. Also have you done any performance work to it, there's always more to do in that department.

To the white truck in question though. I just say get an idea of what you want it to look like in the end. And work through that one piece at a time. If you just buy random individual pieces you could end up with a hodge podge truck. Your bigges purchase will be the wheels and they'll kid of set the tone for everything and make the biggest difference. So get your overall idea and then start with the wheels that fit best. (oh and don't forget to consider your running boards in the process like me lol.) |
I'm assuming you are a fan of chrome by looking at your truck so my opinion is sticking with chrome wheels. For the headlights if you want to add a touch of black you can smoke them like you said or i painted my headlight housing black which is cheap but takes some time and patience to do it right, I dont have pictures of them up yet but if you want to see I can upload a picture or just search black headlight housing. For performance you can do the gotts which is easy and very inexpensive. More expensive options are tuners and an exhaust. As others said do what you want to your truck.

I would leave the headlights, fogs and taillights alone. Just put some HIDs in the heads and fogs. I would get chrome wheels.. 18s with 33s.. the rain guards would go (sorry just not a fan of outter channel ones).. Grill I would get the Rousch one..
|
I would get it all painted the color of your choosing. I would jack it up enough to put some huge ass super swampers and then buy some new wheels.

I will get 33s but with a all terrain tread like Yokahama ATS's or Nitto Terras like I have now. Its already got a 285 so its basically at a 33 now and its leveled already to the point where 35s would fit but they would kill the mpgs. |
