Okay, thanks.

Seeing all the posts about that common issue, I'm thinking I should replace mines soon.

I haven't had that issue arise, but I think I should replace it regardless since it could happen at a bad time and location (heavy thunderstorms, or a rural part with no cell phone reception).

Hi,
Just wondering if the problem returned or the module fixed it. I have the exact same issues. I checked tonight and my cover is cracked. Not as bad as yours but enough to let moisture in.
Please give us an update.

Thanks

I don't think it completely resolved it. Some days it's fine, others not. I even took the COPs off and made sure none of the spark plugs backed out but they were all tightened down to 25 ft lbs. I did notice a couple of bolts to my COPs would loosen up if I tightened them down too far, didn't use a ratcheting socket wrench just a screwdriver socket. So maybe that's the issue? I plan on taking it to a mechanic before too long. Tired of the plug and pray method

What brand of plugs and coils were used? Did you take the new plugs out and check very closely for cracks? Common problem is new plugs breaking or being broken in the package. When you changed the plugs how many broke off?

New coils and plugs did the trick for me. Just to clarify I'm working on a 2005 f150 with the 4.6 triton motor. Never threw a code that I saw. Replaced the FPDM but no difference so next step before the tranny shop was coils and plugs.

To reitereate BadFish, check coils and plugs before going the transmission route.

I have the same shudder/misfire at 1200 rpm, only happens in overdrive 5th gear. Replaced fuel pump driver and it made no difference at all. This is on a 2006 5.4 .
