Show your 4x4 with 33's and list your mods
Hey, I just got my 08 supercrew and am planning to level it for room for 33s. I just checked and have 3:55 gears.
I've seen a lot of 35's out there with the 6 inch lift, and they look great but after
gears
tires
lift
install
divorce
I'll be broke. LOL
So I'd like to see some examples of 33's. I bet they look great too! What gears do you have, tire/rim size, engine size, what's your mileage, did you level or lift? Whatever you think might be interesting. This should be a good thread.

Id be interested to see what gearing people are running on 33's.
about to need tires and plan on doing 17" wheels with 33's with a leveling kit but have 3:55 gears and dont want my mileage to get killed and dont want to have to spend 500 bucks more to regear either. I have a 5.4l fx4 and am getting 15 mpg in stock form and wouldnt want to go below 14 mpg is this even a possability with 33's and a leveling kit?

I did it
I leveled my 08 SCrew 4x4 with a 2.5" Tuff Country lift, it was also aligned, and added 33.1250.20 Toyo MT's. Very nice. Much better now. Will add pictures later.
I am running 3.55s. Think 3.73 would probably be better.

Install
The leveling kit was installed by Les Schwab. They did a fine job. (had to order part, but not tires, no dents, rattles, odd noises, or braking or handling issues)
Alignment
They include an alignment as part of the package. According to their specs, it was not aligned once the kit was added.
They support our local little league big time, so I try to support them when I can. Dropped it off at 8a, done by 10:30a.
First look
Well it's not as tall as some trucks out there. By a long shot. But it's a lot taller than others. It's fairly level with a very slight difference (rear higher). That's ok.
The tires are aggressive looking and I can't wait to find a local mud pit.
Wife likes it more.
First drive
Covering the first feet the tires rattle a little then the tires settle into a nice hum barely audible without the windows down. The tires I had on were some Kumho STX(?) 32 in tall road tires which had of course had better dry road characteristics. No rub at max turn.
Performance
Acceleration from stop is diminished. Mileage probably down(?). (I have 3.55s). 45, 55, 65 MPH did not notice dis-similar RPMs yet.
Overall
I am really happy with this decision. The cost was minimal compared with a lift, gears, and 35s or 37s, and I don't foresee needing 35s or 37s ever.
Next mods
Paint, carpet (living room), remodel kids' bedrooms. Keep wife happy. LOL. Maybe a hidden winch.
