Default Should I get LT tires?

Confused as to if I need LT tires. I do 65% city 35% highway driving in New England and don't tow all the time but when I do I tow a 4000 pound boat. Is it worth it for me to get LT rated tires?

I assume You are running Pmetric radials now. Look at the wt rating marked on the tire sidewall multiply that by2 then look at the GAW rateing on the door jam label on your truck you will see that the P metric tires are quite capable off carrying the weight that your truck is rated to carrey If you feel you would be better served by a LT tire. thats fine but they will ride rougher and they are only speed rated to 85 MPH and they useualy cost more. You will have have a more aggresive tread selection but keep in mind the knarleyer the tread. the poorer the milage both tire and fuel. Bubbabud
