Default serpentine belt not touching tensioner 5.4l

I am in the middle for replacing the intake and I go to pull the alternator and the belt tensioner isn't even touching the belt. Is there another place to adjust the belt? Is this the wrong belt? What should I do?

Definitely sounds like you have the wrong belt... installed properly, there's no way that belt would miss the tensioner

are you saying that the belt is not long enough to reach the tensioner or the belt is over the tensioner with no tension on it ?

Confused, are you trying to put on a new belt, or is the existing one suddenly not working? Also, post said you pulled the Alternator and noticed the belt wasn't contacting tensioner, did you put the alt back on? (Maybe I'm missing something and need to go back to school)

I would suggest, as others have, wrong belt

OR

you have the correct belt but installed incorrectly. There should be a map on the rad support showing how it has to be run
