Default Sell me on a tuner

Alright boys as I stated before, I am new around here.

See a lot of you guys have performance tuners. My question is, what exactly does a tuner do for your rig?

I have a 06 lariat on 22's with a cold air intake, and exhaust, what benefit would I get out of a tuner?

thanks.

I got a difference in throttle response. I was a little dissapointed when I first put it in, didn't feel the difference. But after having it on a few months, and then putting it back to stock, I really felt the difference. I was excited when I put it back to stock cause I realized I had actually made a good decision in getting it. Plus, on my evolution, there is all kinds of stuff you can monitor and such which makes it pretty convenient. Also, with oversized tires, getting the speedo back to normal helps out. Not the best thing in the world, but I am satisfied with it.

Thanks for the response. Any suggestions on what one I should take a look at? Is it something I can install myself, or do I bring it to a shop and have them install it?

I guess I am looking to get any hidden power out of my truck without hindering the life of it.

Any info on which one would be a choice would be awesome.

Search this forum on "tuners". Then grab a cold beverage and a sandwich and read on. There are hundreds of posts on this subject that you will be able to decide on which tuner fits your requirements.

Ha ha, no. Where I can read reviews on different "tuners." Is it even worth the money for a tuner?

Aouther good place would be www.F150online.com and look at "chips, tunners & programmers.
You'll need a 12 pack to start out.

Thanks for the responses, everyone.

This is what i have come up with...

http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/cto/1777005564.html

Is this something I will have to take to a shop and tune, or is this something I plug in and go? Like I said, not to bright when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Thanks again,

Scott
