Default Seat Belt Alert Issue

For some reason my seat belt alert goes off even if it's plugged in. I've tried disabling the alert by following the plug in/unplug method that i've found in the threads of this site and also included in the owners manual. This didn't disable it.

I've noticed that if i plug the seat belt in before i start the truck then it doesn't beep, however if i start the engine then plug in the seat belt, the alert will occur. Has anyone else had this issue or know of a solution?

Hmm might be a longshot but when my front airbag sensor went (in front of the radiator), I had very similar. I also had the airbag light on though if I recall until I replaced it of course. I just found it strange that the one sensor kept making my seatbelt chime go off.

Listen to the chime. It should come in sets and they number and frequency of the chime will give us an idea what's wrong. A lot of times it's an air bag or seat position sensor.

it chimes 25 times very quickly, I'd say within 10 seconds, every 30 seconds or so. I believe it did this 10 times and then it stops.

Could it be 5 sets of 5 chimes? If so that would be this... https://ca.answers.yahoo.com/questio...6183736AAIShA6

Basically there is an airbag problem. If you search airbag chimes in the 04-08 forum and you'll find some things to try first.
