SCT SF3 Programmer

NICE! I have owned the Edge Evo and now this SCT SF3 Tuner. By FAR this is better than the Evo. Its preprogrammed tunes are not only better power wise, but also in gas mileage (so far). I havent played with it yet to see how much power I can get out my block, but the stock 93 is Righteous! Firmed up the transmission just right so now even when just cruising it just holds it own nice and steady. I'm sure many are gonna ask why didnt I just upgrade to a Gryphon? Well, frankly, the Gryphon is cumbersome. Who wants to send out and wait for their tunes? Sure, the work is impecable I'm sure but my time IS money. Plus, the Gryphon doesnt support Turbochargers, and thats whats goin on the truck next year.

Oh yea, did I mention I bought this NEW for $315 . I got a guy here in Houston that can get everything, tuners, exhaust, TC's/SC's, HIDS, etc cheap! If anyone is lookin for anything, let me know. I'll repost when I get home w/ this guys email address.

Yes, this is the new model. 3015 to be exact. Comes w/ 3 preprogrammed tunes: 87 Economy, 91 Perf, 93 Perf. You can add "towing" to any of these and it will make it tow friendly. It also has the ability to store programs you come up with, up to 3 i think. Still playin with it so still learnin.

im assuming it can still store custom tunes?

Correct. Gonna try and put a mean tune on it this weekend.

cool ill have to look into it. i was thinking about the Xcal3 but this might sway my decision.

VanoFord 04-26-2010 12:02 PM

I had considered that one as well until talkin to an SCT agent about everything. He swayed me into this model. Then it was all about how much I could get it for. Best on eBay was $350. Best on a Mustang forum was $330 shipped. got it locally for $315.

I am not 100% sure but I believe its based on the engine, and not the year. This model accepts both 5.4 and 4.6L. I would go to SCT website and ask them directly. Usually takes 1 day for them to turn around a tech question via email.

This device will not support custom tunes (as in written by a tuner). It looks like it supports custom settings (which nearly all quality programmers support).

The model year and engine are both important. Calibrations change from year to year and within each model year.

If model year wasn't important, then any device could support the 09-10s.
