Default Running/ Parking lights

So i recently purchased a set of u- bar led tail lights, and they are not wired the way that i like. They are wired so that the u- bar comes on when the headlights turn on but also so that the center led's that are the brake lights come on as well. I want to rewire them so that the u-bar is the running/ parking light, and the center leds only come on when i hit the brakes. Anyone have any way to do this? From my understanding the brake and running lights are in the same wire, if so is there a way to split them apart? Any help is greatly appreciated.

The brake light connector should have three wires. One for brakes/turn signals, one for running lamps, and a ground.

I don't think what you want to do will work without destroying the circuit board those LED's are soldered to.
