Mine don't flap, however they didnt really snap in. The tabs just hold it in place not lock. I would say to use something like windsheild sealer to hold on at the cowl where they attach or just some sort of adhesive. I am going to plastidip mine as one peice and see how that goes.

they dryrot and crack up and fall off and you end up with a gaping hole beside your cowl that allows water to get behind the fender. Ford does not sell just the rubber piece. you have to buy the whole cowl piece for that side

Thanks!
Thanks so much for this thread. I had given up on finding these and decided to just live with the ugly... I'm going to take the info to my Ford dealers parts guy. When I asked him about replacing mine he was embarassed to tell me that I was going to have to replace the whole cowl. Contrary to most, he will recommend non-Ford parts when they are in the customer's best interest and these definitely are!
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Yeah, they aren't an EXACT replacement part, as the originals are rubber and these are a sort of soft plastic. I am not the discoverer of these, just a relayer of information. I finally installed mine just now after receiving them a couple weeks ago. Not perfect, but way better than $250.00 plus for new cowls.
Previously I had used a contact cement to re-attach the old ones. They finally rotted off and I had to carefully scrape/remove the contact cement & remains. For those who are worried about the "looseness" in some installations, just use a general contact cement in the installation. (I may still add that with mine...) It will come off if you need to re-do this in another 5-6 years...
