Default royal purple: good oil for our trucks?

I have used Mobil 1 full synthetic the last time I did the oil change. I'm thinking of switching to royal purple. Does anyone else use royal purple or what do you use?

Any help would be much appreciated.

There are some conflicting ball bearing scratch tests on the web regarding premium oils. some seem to show royal purple doing better than mobile one and some show the opposite... almost all show amsoil as leading the pack. I think when you go with a premium synthetic, you're likely not going to be disappointed regardless of what you choose. I'm sticking with mobile one because it's a little cheaper than amsoil and easier to find.

Thanks for the info! I was thinking of switching because royal purple on Amazon is actually a little chapter than Mobil 1 for the 6 quart case and then adding a 7th quart. I can get all 7 quarts and the motorcraft filter for $51 out the door. The Mobil 1 would end up being around $60

there was a guy on here that got an oil change done with amsoil signature for $68 (which i would pay) but i doubt that's something many of us will find. I buy mobile one at walmart like aoessand suggested and I think it's like $43 locally for 2 5 quart containers. not that it's any cheaper but the large containers at parts stores are slightly more than 5 quarts and only walmart seems to have the exact 5 quart containers

That's a good call. I'll probably go that direction. Just trying to do anything I can to avoid problems down the road but if there isn't significant differences between them, Mobil 1 is definitely more accessible and locals cheaper I guess.

Yeah, amsoil is pretty pricey and hard to find. I'll probably stick with Mobil 1 from Wal-Mart.

you can gto amsoil website pay the 20 bucks and you get "vendor pricing" I did this and it makes it a lot cheaper, expecually if you have more then 1 car you want to put the oil in

Mobil 1 is a top tier oil. Its not worth the extra money for RP because your truck will never know the difference. I would run M1 AFE 0/20 or0/30....depending on what grade u like
