We didnt test any specialty oils, just off the shelf oils like mobil 1, RP, Castrol and so on. So hopefully some of you can see how I formed my opinion.
So all the advertising and claims saying synthetic oil is better is false? That's a little hard to believe...

i run royal purple in my 08 from the first oil change..now has 52000 miles..have ran it 15000 miles before... and it still looked good(that doesnt mean anything tho)...with K&N filter

in my 02 its had scheffers syn... from about 60000 miles its got like 145 now...my dad runs it between 12 and 15k usually... with a motocraft filter or K&N filter

i think a good choice to use is what has always been ran in it... after running 90k on 1 oil...i would not change it up...

Me too! I just got my oil report back from Blackstone and will get it posted up here soon. They said everything looked good except for a larger amount of iron and aluminium, which I think was caused by excessive cold starts in below freezing weather.

Did you not read a thing I wrote? Never did I say synthetic was inferior. I said that all synthetics are basically the same thing(from the ones e tested).

But, Synthetics DO act the same as blends and regular dino oil, they just last longer.

I've heard its not great to jump between brands, but I ran RP for the first 70 000kms and when it was getting scarce up here in the frozen north I switched to Mobil 1 Full Syn. Seems to be good so far. Personally I wouldn't run anything but full syn in my truck.
