rotton egg smell?
Does rotton egg smell mean bad converters? If so beside nasty smell how long can I run with them? Don't want to spend kids Christmas money... Can I just have them removed?

Yes it does usually. How many miles on the truck? Typically converters don't just go bad on their own. Usually an engine malfunction like a misfire or an overly rich fuel mixture will trash the cats.

I have been smelling something with my truck also with 92,000miles. I have a flo pro exhaust system on it. I just had the plugs changed yesterday (4 broke) and had them check for the smell. They did not find it and I have not smelled it since then. If I start to have cat problems I will be just deleting them.

Sometimes a bad tank of gas can give you a real sulfur smell. I had a minivan with this problem, wasn't the cats. got this advice from a friend and tried only running shell, for a few tanks, no smell, then branched out till I felt comfortable with sunoco, exxon, and liberty. But was running low one day and put some cheap no-name gas in it and got that egg smell back. just for that tank.
