Default Roll Pan Help!

I'm looking to clean up the back end of my 08 Screw...

I bought a Street Scene Generation 2 urethane pan due to hearing about the complications involved with most steel pans. Was this a good call or should I exchange it for a Street Scene Generation 3 steel pan?

I don't want to pay to have it welded and molded (although I will say it looks much better)... I simply want that tacky, bulky chrome bumper GONE.

Urethane Generation 2 or Steel Generation 3?

Thanks.

It will cost more, but the steel pan will look way better IMO. I would rather pay for quality.

What would you say the price range to get a steel pan painted and installed? And do you know if the Street Scene pans require much work to get to fit right?

Price wise, I couldn't tell you. The only time I dealt with a roll pan was on an 85 S-10 Blazer. A buddy and I did the prep work (weld, grind, mud, etc.) ourselves in our high school auto shop and then had a friend paint it. This was about 8 or 9 years ago... All I know is my steel pan looked better than my buddies S-10 pickup with a fiberglass pan. It just looked like it was meant to be there, the fiberglass just looked like another bolt on accessory.

I appreciate the help. I got the urethane pan in the mail and HATE it... ordered the steel pan immediately after. I'm not sure about welding and molding due to added costs but I agree the steel will look much better. I'll consider attaching the urethane pan to a Tonka truck.

Anyone have some pics of the weld in roll pan installed? I searched but couldnt find any.

I love the clean look with a roll pan look but im wondering if it will make the back end of our trucks look too square.

I was looking at one of the Roush rear bumper caps... but I did not think it was for my truck.. but for your truck this would be a quick and easy thing... they were closing them out on the Roush Web site a few months ago so they might still be there... they were something like $100.

Its a cover that just snaps over the existing bumper.

I called around some body shops and the best estimate so far is $180.00 to paint the pan and $46.00/hr to bolt it on and install the license plate light. Is this a good price?

I've been trying to find pictures of a steel pan on an 04-08 and haven't found any. The only pictures I've found are of urethane roll pans (which look really clean for such flimsy material). I'll put some pictures on here after I get mine done, although I'm sad to say I will not be getting it welded and molded to cut some costs.
