Is there any movement in the lash adjusters ? U should not be able to press them in by hand. Cam followers should not move unless the lash adjusters have no oil in them or the cam lobes are shot, or the cam has been lifted up out of it's journals.

Would the lash adjusters still have pressure even if there's no oil in the vehicle?

A mechanic friend of mine said I might have a problem with oil getting to that side of the head which would make it seem like everything is making noise at once.

Even if the oil was drained from the engine, the lash adjusters should have oil in them still. Oil would have to drain out of the lash adjusters and then they could be depressed in. With the oil still in the adjusters, you cannot move the lash adjuster top valve by hand.
And yes, oil pumps do fail to pump - just went through this with my 4.6 2 valve engine.

Fail to pump to only one side of the engine? I'm a novice and do not know how or where the look for oil sending problems to that side of the head.

I see what you mean now. Do you think a noise that loud could be from a single bad lifter?

Thats very possible. But if that one is like that, chances are there are more that could be shot.

I think I mentioned this earlier but this incredibly loud noise just happened over night. Even though my tensioner seems to be good is it possible the tensioner gasket blew out and that is what is causing the passenger side to be starved for oil?

Prior to a few days ago there was zero lifter noise whatsoever.
