rocker arm

Correct me if I am wrong but my understanding of overhead valves was the camshaft rode directly on the lifters and actuated the valves.

Thought they were more efficient without the pushrod or rocker arm.

I have no clue about fords motors iv all ways been Chevy

Well these are over head cams. I know the chevys 4.8 and I think the 5.3 are still pushrod motors so those should have rockers.

But the ford shouldnt.

You can get a performance cam tho.

The cams in these motors don't give much gains either. VCT already does a lot on that front.

What's vct

Variable cam timing. It allows the cam to advance/retard as needed via oil pressure. All the 04+ 5.4L use this. The theory is to provide the best cam position for most any situation without actually having to change out the cams.

Yep. All the 04-08's had a mechanical fan that can be converted. I used two 16" Derale tornadoes that flow around 2500 CFM a piece, and a DC controls FK-85 controller.
