rocker arm
i want to change out my stock rocker arms with a little bit bigger ratio has any one ever done this on there 5.4
|
Correct me if I am wrong but my understanding of overhead valves was the camshaft rode directly on the lifters and actuated the valves.
Thought they were more efficient without the pushrod or rocker arm. |
I have no clue about fords motors iv all ways been Chevy
|
Well these are over head cams. I know the chevys 4.8 and I think the 5.3 are still pushrod motors so those should have rockers.
But the ford shouldnt. You can get a performance cam tho. |
Ok thanks for the info on that learned some thing new about the 5.4 that was gone to be plane b is the camshafts

What's vct
|
Variable cam timing. It allows the cam to advance/retard as needed via oil pressure. All the 04+ 5.4L use this. The theory is to provide the best cam position for most any situation without actually having to change out the cams.
