I have read that and a once a month treatment doesn't seem bad. I feel like the Fx4 is a over rated. I hate the black leather and I would be adding
Billsteins so I don't see any benefit to the Fx4?

I don't think damp clothes would cause any problems to the basic leather but I have seen issues with staining on the King Ranch leather? IS the leather too high maintenance in the King Ranch for a truck that doubles as a hunting vehicle?
King Ranch leather is amazing to the touch but once you get spill something on it (even water I've been told), good luck getting it out! I spilled just a touch of chicken noodle soup in my buddies King Ranch and I did everything I could to get it out. It just left a nice dark spot on the seat and he was furious haha. Mine has black leather and I was kind of worried I'd destroy it during the hunting season with all the mud and snow everyone was tracking in but all the mud, dirt, snow, and nasty hunting clothes just wiped right off no problem and all my gear and gun cases just rolled around and didn't even scratch it!

I've never had a issue with water on my seats. Water has never stained them at all

Nope, you actually wash the seats with a damp cloth, water won't hurt them.

Just bought my '04 FX4 about a month ago and love it! I bought mine from an older guy with a few toys: 3" level kit, ranch hand, projector headlights, toolbox, rhino liner, aftermarket pioneer touch screen head unit, 1800 watt amp, kenwood speakers and two 10" kickers. Bought it with ~73XXX and its in great shape other than the rear end seals which i had to replace. The leather seats look barely used, and the back look brand new. Overall I came in around 6K under KBB. My buddy has an '06 4.6 with around 100k on it and cant hardly pick up a screwdriver but he hasn't had any problems other than recently doing a tune-up. I'm really happy with it so far. Just take your time in finding one that hasn't been off-road alot and well maintained.
