Got my 06 in 09. It had 60K on it then and has 170K now. I have not had a single issue that wasn't maintenance related. Had to change plugs once, and rotors/pads and front calipers, and usual fluid changes.

Definitely don't run away from the 04-08 trucks. I love mine to death and in the 11,000 miles I've put on it in the last 4months it's treated me very very well. I love my truck and plan to drive it till it completely self destructs. (Hopefully not for a long time)

I agree. It is really cool as well that non Ford enthusiasts often think I own a brand new truck, and not one that's 10 years old.

Love my 04 5.4L 2wd plenty of power and can tow my 7k trail rig on a 1k trailer. Looking into the edge tuner and should be set.

I dont know about everyone else but I am second guessing my purchase. I have had the truck for around 8mos and 11k miles and have already had to replace the spark plugs, cats, and now the lashers all with the truck having less than 90k miles. Knowing what I know now I dont know if I would have made that purchase again.

So true. People don't realize they aren't new which is always fine with me. I've been asked if my leveling kit voided my warranty. I have 133,000 miles...

Don't count out the 4.6. I have had my 04 4.6 for about 6 months now and put 4k troublefree miles on it. It currently has 61k miles. My only complaint is the horrible MPG I get but that is a V8 full sized truck for you. I like my truck and plan to drive it daily for now, then turn it into my my work around the house/property truck until it dies.

I have seen several people mention the 4.6. My brother and dad both have 04's with the 4.6 and both around 140k miles, its a great engine but when I borrow their trucks I can tell it isn't a big V8. My parents used to have a pontoon boat and the 4.6 didn't seem to enjoy towing it either. Like I said it is a great engine but having owned a Titan I am partial to having power under the hood and with the intentions of keeping this truck for a very long time I know I would want to upgrade down the road if I got a 4.6.

I appreciate everyone's feedback so keep it coming.

I didn't go 4.6 because my research lead me to believe it was going to struggle with my tow load. Without towing I am getting about 15MPG around town and 17.5MPG on the highway. So I am happy.
