Default Reverse Camera location

I am going to install a reverse camera this weekend. Where is the best place to install the actual camera? Tailgate, Bumper? Thanks for the input, This site has helped me out tons.

I have one of those cheap license plate frame style cameras and it limits your range of sight. IMO I am going to put it in the tailgate handle when I get a new one.

I should have also said that it is a camera that will require drilling into something to mount it. Thanks again!

I had a license plate mounted camera in the beginning but never liked how it looked.

A couple of years ago meth heads tried to break into my bed or steal my tailgate and ruined the handle assembly. I replaced it with one containing a factory camera mount and like it much better for aesthetics.

Some of the reviews said that the angle is bad. How do you like it?

I have the stock reverse camera on my tailgate handle. I love it because it helps me line up to my trailer.

I have no issue with it. But then I also use my side mirrors a lot (I was taught how to drive a flatbed and then subsequently a cruiser, so it's stuck with me at this point) -- but from the pic below you can see that it gives you a chunk of bumper and then the rest of the world.

Perfect. I drove dump trucks and snow plows enough that I am the same way. But I have a kid now, so every little bit helps. Thanks
