Default Reusable Air Filter

I am looking for an air filter that can be cleaned and reused. I know K&N makes one, however I am not impressed with them. I would prefer a dry use filter. I have read where amsoil makes a reusable filter as well. Am I missing any other ones? I am not interested in CAI and want a drop in.

I was interested in the Amsoil one, however it seems like it is a 4 year/100k mile filter. I know K&N used to be 1M mile filter however that could change. I put less than 10k miles on my truck per year, so if I go with the Amsoil, could I squeek more than 4 years use out of it?

I haven't heard a lot of positive praise for Fram in the air filter department. I have seen people discuss AEM, but have yet to find one for my 04 F150 4.6.

I'm not looking for more power. Intakes on our trucks are pretty useless without other add ons. I would rather have a filter that is better and I can take out and clean it instead of buying a new one every time it needs changed. I won't be adding anything to my truck with the exception of an exhaust at some point down the road.

I've been a K&N user for over 15 years with no issues. What's your beef with them?

I have the Amsoil one for about a year now and no problems with it. When I clean it it still looks nearly new. I could see it lasting longer than the 4 years but I do mostly just highway driving so there is not much dirt to start with.

I bought a no name reusable air filter on ebay for $18 shipped right after I bought my truck.

I don't care about BS 'performance' gains from it, it was just cheaper than buying two throw away filters. I use the K&N cleaner/recharge kit on it and also use the kit for my atv.

I'm another satisfied K&N user. I've got 100K on my current truck with one. Clean it every year and it looks like new. Some people worry that the oil will crud up your MAF sensor, but if you don't over oil it won't be a problem. I also clean my MAF once a year too, so it's kind of a moot point. Bottom line, my K&N has paid for itself several times by now.
