Did you perchance change the solenoid?

Yes I changed solenoid and I thought when wheel bearings go bad they will grind all the time....the sound I hear only happens at certain rpm and speeds.

Have you checked the wheel speed sensors? Happened to me a few years back on an 06 f150 fx4. Dealership told me the wires got ripped out of the sensor (from offroading).

Mine did too... As far as it sounded from the dealer, it was a speed sensor for the anti-lock brakes, but it made my 4wd grind when I tried to shift on the fly....

The wheel speed sensors on the front end have nothing to do with your speedometer. They are part of the ABS.

thanks for the heads up and all the good info... i took off my cv shaft a little while ago and checked for any metal fileings and there was none even after the grinding noise came back... ill keep an eye on it but if anyone else has more input on this topic please post it on here thanks again.
