Are you saying you just have a fuel line hanging there not connected to anything? Can you post pics?

No, there are 5 quick connections on the FSU that have to be taken off to swap FSU’s(2004-2008) 4 on the exterior of the tank/FSU and one inside the tank. My thoughts were: I can tell all of the exterior connections are okay and leak free, however that internal connection is the only thing I can possibly think of that may be leaking or faulted. It’s hooked up to the FSU, but I can’t guarantee it’s hooked up or doing its job on the other side(since I can’t see it. It’s maybe a 2 foot length of 5/16” fuel line. Wondering if anyone knows what that internal fuel line is suppose to do... |
Might be a vapor return line, or the smaller breather line that connects to the fuel door.

So it wouldn’t likely cause “no fuel pressure”... Correct?

Did you use a dorman brand FPDM ?
|
No, but I was concerned that since the old one was so corroded and burnt up, that it did some damage downline? I am going to do some more voltage tests as I pull the tank to verify.

I’m dropping the tank for the 3rd time now. I’m taking pictures and going to do a thorough pin-point inspection as per the shop manual this time. It gets easier on the 3rd time. Since my old original pump/fsu was weather cracked, I can’t use the bones. The new FSU I have may have a junk pump. I’m going to swap out the pump itself with the Bosch kit and see. I am finding complaints of bad grounding at the FPDM on the frame, so will check mine too.

The FPDM I bought is Dorman, and works perfectly fine.
