Default Removing driver side head. What all do I need?

So I replaced the spark plugs on my 5.4 last week, only got 2 out in one piece, the rest broke. I got all the broken plugs out except cylinder #8, which is the hardest to get to of course. I took the truck to a shop and they spent an hour and a half trying to get it out with no luck. I am going to try to save myself some money by pulling the driver side head here at school and getting the plug out. What all do I need to buy for this procedure? Coolant, head bolts, new gasket, power steering fluid, etc.

Leave the head alone, and get yourself a Lisle tool.

I already have it. It worked on the other 5 plugs, but not on that one. Shop even tried it with that tool.

That's weird, first I've heard of it not working. I know I have seen Lisle tools where the threads are all stripped on the tool itself, and that doesn't work.

What exactly is going on when you try to use the tool? You can get a drillbit extender and drill into the tip of the plug to get more bite.

Avoid pulling the head, I'm doing the job and it sucks.

The tool doesn't bite at all. A local shop also tried and they are the one that told me that the head would have to be pulled. I think the pusher pushed the porcelain all the way down, but the extractor doesn't grab the broken plug at all.
