Default Nitrogen in tires

I just put a set of nitto trail grapplers on my truck. Im curious if puttting nitrogen in the tires is that big of a deal. If this is done is it something that has to be refilled like reg. air? Does the cost and maint v/s benefits equal out?

Very tiny benefit for normal usage.. I wouldn't bother.

ive had nitrogen filled for years. it helps keep the expanding and contracting minimal in extreme tempatures so it does help reduce heat related blow outs and cold related low/flat tires. its not a huge diff but there is one. it dose cost to refill it tho. and u can mix it with air, it just slowly replaces the N2 thus defeating the origional purpose. but never the less u get the cool lil green valve stems. so if you have to pay more to get it, dont bother.

Unless you plan on getting your tires hot, i wouldn't bother.

The whole idea is that it keeps a more constant tire pressure, so longer tire life.

If you drive normal and check your tire pressure from time to time then your ok. Besides, not easy to find places that sell nitrogen air.

isnt it also suppose to be lighter? Not sure what kind of difference it makes but with big tires it may help MPG a smudge.

I doubt you will see a difference in mileage. Putting Nitrogen in isn't worth the money unless you are racing. If you have a low tire you will put air in and just defeat the whole purpose. I have yet to see a gas station that has a nitrogen hose next to the air hose.

the air we breath is already 78% nitrogen, buying it for your tires is a waste of money.
