Default Remove throttle delay 2004 f150

What tuner would you guys recommend to remove the throttle delay on a 5.4 2004 f150? The truck is stock 4x4 supercrew that I don't plan on upgrading really. I might add an exhaust at some point but that's it really.

Thanks!

I did, if I remember right it involved messing with the key and pushing throttle to the floor and back slowly. It seemed to help awhile ago but it wasn't normal even after.

Yeah you turn the key to on them slowly press the pedal and release fast 3 times. It didn't do much unless the throttle was was relaxed. I don't know much about tuners but lots of people on here like edge evolution converted to gryphon.

Do you want canned tunes, or custom tunes? Canned tunes are what come in the tuner, which aren't bad. Custom tunes come from companies like 5 Star, MPT, Unleashed, etc, etc. There are several companies that do tunes. The custom tunes will be much better than the canned tunes. SCT4 is a great tuner for that, it'll hold 10 custom tunes. You can buy them from the tuning companies directly, and get custom tune bundles with them.

I recently put a Bully Dog GT Platinum on my 2005. It helped the throttle response a good bit. I also like being able to adjust the shift point RPM for each individual gear. The premium tune makes the truck run great, I just don't like to purchase the high octane fuel required to run on this setting. However, I am getting 1.5 - 2 mpg more than I was before. Even running 80 on the interstate, it gets better mpg than it did before running 65.

This would be the first time messing with a tuner, I figured just getting rid of the lag would be a huge benefit. Ill take a look at both recommendations, my truck has quite a few miles on it so I dont want to stress it to much with something very aggressive. With the canned tunes do they say "remove lag" or is it more like it adjust fuel, air, shift etc.

Summers22 has a good setup custom tune for a gryphon I believe. He has shared it with many users on here and they all seem to love it. You might talk to him?
