Default Dealer spark plug quote

Been dealing with a intermittent shutter/vibration for the past couple months, low RPM, in OD, around 45mph, with a load on the motor. Had the dealer check it out but they couldn't find anything wrong no codes etc. After researching it here and reading posts with similar issues I'm thinking its the plugs. Truck is a 08 with 53k miles. Called the dealer and they want $450 to change the plugs and COP boots not the COP just the boot. Its $100 for the 1st plug that breaks and $50 for each one after that. Does that sound about right?

Ford dealer here said its 350 for plugs just plugs..and 45 for each plug that breaks..but i found a shop that has done a many f-150s and they are substantially cheaper i forgot the cost. But call local shops chances are..they have the tool in case they break cause they have 9 outta 10 done and f-150 before.

Did it myself for free! Only had to pay for the Motorcraft SP-515 plugs...lol. I even took a pic of a couple that have 130k miles of wear. Just don't wait that long after I did em, and Ford recommends you change em every 60k miles now. My dealer did quote $400 and $100 for each plug that breaks.

I did mine myself after a local shop diagnosed the problem then refused to change them. My dad and I ended up breaking one off behind the computer and had to buy the tool. Even with buying the tool it came out a lot cheaper than any shop. One thing we found was pull the cops off, get a puddle of liquid wrench in there, then get about a quarter turn off the plugs. Then let it sit overnight and move slow the next day when turning them. Also ran fuel injector cleaner through before attempting hoping to loosen some carbon.

You own a 2008... Good chance that the 2-piece sparkplug issue were resolved and that you have the redesigned heads. Check your engine build date (see sticky) and you can determine whether or not you have the redesigned heads.

If you do, please don't think of paying anyone to do it!
