Default Refurbished Ford Emblem

Step 1) Grind off all the exiting paint and material. Mine was faded, cracked and looked terrible.

Step 2) Sprayed the gray coat that matches my grille.

Step 3) Taped off the logo and penciled it a bit so I could see where the bevel was before cutting the logo. Next time I'll probably use some monkey tape and then mask off around it for a better Ford logo.

Step 4) Cut-out Ford logo with exacto knife

Step 5) Sprayed black logo

Step 6) After painting black logo and before clearcoat

Step 7 & 8) 3 Coats of Clear and installed.

Looks good but I think the black oval around it would have set it off. But still good work.

Good idea! I didn't even think about that. I may tape it off and give it a shot. I still have to do the tailgate as well. Thanks!

Ive done this process. My exacto knife skills are crazy bad haha. So i went to a sticker shop n got vinyle stickers made. I shaved off all the embossed lettering. Primmed, painted, let the paint dry for a few days then stuck the sticker on, waited a day for bubbles to surface, none did tho, then cleared! 15 bucks got me 5 stickers the the shop. I like your color scheme better tho. Nice work!

Looks good. How did you clean/prep the part before starting the painting?

I just wiped it down until it was clean with a wet cloth and let it dry.

nice job. how do you remove the emblem from the grill to begin with? Also, what adhesive did you use to reapply the emblem? Thanks. Again, great job!

It's held in place by two nuts, no adhesive is necessary.
