Problem Solved
So I called my two local dealerships to see when I could get the truck in for a reprogramming..... THREE WEEKS! WHAT?!.... then I called a couple of local garages to see if I could gleen a little info and pick their brains. They both suggested the usual: check fuses, grounds, relays, etc. which I did. Everything looked and tested fine. But I kept thinking that all I did was take the battery out and drop it back in. I never disturbed very much at all and the thing certainly isn't a rusty pile of junk. Also, would you be expected to bring it for a reprogramming everytime the battery was disconnected?
Anyway, after scratching my head and mulling it over I figured that before I dug into this too much further I'd try this: turn the key to the on position then disconnect the battery, wait a few minutes (straighten out the tool box, have a tasty beverage) then hook the battery back up with the key still left in the on position....and guess what? IT WORKED... reached in, turned the key and it started right up! So I went through the 're-learn' process and took out for a spin around the block.
So this is one to file away for sure. A stupid little fix to a very annoying problem.

It's possible. I'll have a look, athough I thought I read all the pertainent parts relating to the problem. One of my buddies called earlier and said something about a button to reset the remote start feature but I never looked as the truck runs fine again now. Something else to keep in mind.
