Default Recall for the Clock spring.. Remove Edge or Not?

I am taking my 06 in for a recall on the clock spring and or wiring for the air bag this Wednesday.

I have an edge CTS installed. I am way out of any warranty at 101k miles now.

Is there any problems leaving the Edge CTS Programmer installed? I don't want to remove the tune if I don't have to. Could things go wrong if I leave it installed and they remove the battery?

Thanks

If you're really worried about it, just pull it. You don't need the edge in place to have the tune work, and it should stay programmed even with the battery disconnected.

My buddy just changed mine a few months back and he didn't do anything except unplug the current wiring from the steering wheel then plugged the new one in. Didn't scan the computer, remove the battery, or do anything else so you should be fine.

Thanks fella's. I'm not worried about them seeing the edge installed. I just didn't want to mess up the ECU by them doing something. I will just plan on leaving it installed. The edge was the best thing that I have done to this truck! Hopefully I will have some good news tomorrow when they do the recall. That is good to know that the tune stays on the ECU.

I will also have to see if they have any factory in the bed tie downs. I have the holes for them, just none there...

If you're referring to the 4 tiedowns that bolt into the side of the box, get them from a junkyard if you don't find any at the dealer. I got my bedliner from a junkyard and had to remove them to get the liner out.

Yeah it's as simple as removing 2 bolts, opening up the steering wheel. And replacing a small wire harness. A 4 minute job.

Nah I wouldn't be worried about taking it out, I do always reset back to stick though before doing any service at the dealership though.

SICC is there any reason to why you take it back to stock? Or is it just what makes you comfortable? Just curious thats all as this is my first vehicle with a "tuner"

Good news that it won't take them long. I'm 1st in line in the morning. So hopefully they will just do it and then I can drive off and not have to take their shuttle to work and then back.

I will try a few junk yards. I was out at one a few weeks ago to get a "new" visor and all the F-150's they had didn't have any beds.

Also I noticed that line-ex sprayed over the holes. I'm sure that will be a pain to dig out! Any advice on that? I may start a thread for that.

It might be a 4 minute job but you better believe it will take an hour or lol
