Default Rearend shudder/chatter

I have a 2004 F150 Lariat, 110,000 miles. I am getting some rearend shudder when I pull away from a stop sign amd make a turn right away. Is there an additive I can put in to help this. Amsoil, or Lucas ? The rearend was rebulit by Ford at 70,000 miles. They said the clutch pack when out on the limited slip.

its the clutches in the clutch pack. you could replace the fluid and add more friction modifier but if you have my luck it wont help. I just ordered a new clutch pack for my truck to fix the shudder/ chatter issue.

Before you change the fluid again, get a bottle of friction modifier from Ford, and add 1/2 a bottle. If that doesn't do it, add the rest. Sometimes one bottle is not enough. Mine took 1 3/4 bottle.

i had the same problem changed the fluid. put 2 bottles of royal purple limited slip gear oil plus the friction modifier and problem is GONE !! now my limited slip works better than in a brand new truck. it took like a week for it to actually completely go away but it was worth the 54 bucks and hour of labor to do it myself

I had a shudder I put in two bottles of friction modifier and that fixed the problem. they sell at the dealer for 6 bucks a piece. by the way thats canadian bucks. This was way cheaper than a new drive shaft or lubeing the slip yoke.

There is a plug roughly half way or little more up from the bottom. It has square socket that a 3/8 ratchet extension fits in. I believe the plug faces the drivers side. Remove the plug, get creative with a funnel or some tubing and pour it in that way. Might have to suck some out in order to add the modifier. The oil level should be at the bottom of that plug hole.
