Rear diff fluid
Hey everyone!
Just curious to know how long to wait for gasket maker to cure before refilling the diff. I just finished draining and cleaning my rear diff. I'm using the blue permetex, so the tube says to hand tighten. Wait one hour, then retighten. Should I wait overnight, or is that no good for the gears? Btw I used evaporating brake cleaner to get rid of residue oil and then wiped up everything. I also waited about half an hour so the gears had time to completely dry.
I hope someone that has done their own diff fluid change successfully can help me out. I have four bottles of royal purple 75w-140 just waiting to be poured in!
Thanks!!

Some put in immediately after getting the cover on, some wait. There's no set in stone way to do it as long as it doesn't leak afterwards. The main part if you have LS, is driving in a figure 8 a few times after you get the new fluid/friction modifiers in to work the into packs.

Thanks for the quick reply!! I guess as soon as I retighten the housing bolts, I will put the fluid in. You also answered my question of how long to wait to drive it. Hope this fixes my rear end shutter.
