Default Reading Transmission Codes

When starting my truck the last couple of mornings, my message center displayed the "Transmission Malfunction" message and the O/D Off light was flashing. The warning went away after a few seconds, and the light quit blinking. I haven't noticed any change in the way the truck drives. Is there a way that I can check for any transmission codes?

I don't know if it makes any difference, but when we were in Outer Banks a couple of weeks ago there was a lot of flooding due to all the rain they had. I, of course, had to run through the flooded areas trying to splash the people riding in the bed!

2007 KR SCrew, 5.4l, 149,000 miles

Thanks!

A Bluetooth adapter and Torque Pro read mine. Sounds like you at least need a fluid change.

Can any of these be checked without dropping the transmission pan?
