Default Rattle upon acceleration

I have a 2007 FX4 and whenever I accelerate slowly it sounds like there is a rattle coming from the engine area. No codes, but it does worry me. Does anyone know what this could be? If checked all the heat shields or other items that could make it rattle but nothing

Heat shielding would have been my first guess as well.. does it rattle if you rev it in neutral? If so, I'd have someone ease into it with the hood open and see if you can tell where it's coming from easier.

I have not tried that yet but I will and see if I can figure it out. Thanks for the suggestion.

Probably a rattlesnake under your gas pedal. Try looking under there.

No, I have not had the camphasers done yet. I thought the cam noise was present all the time? This only happens on acceleration

I have the same issue too, mine is under light acceleration going up any small hill! It sounds like slack in the timing chain! I also have a heat shield rattle but that only happens when I first take of from a light or at idle with the truck in drive! Haven't been able to figure out what's causing my chain slack but don't really care either cause my truck is a lemon which I am going to be replacing soon (sad to say cause it's a good lookin truck and rides nice!). ya but once you get to speed you cant hear them due to wind/engine noise.

also i hear mine mainly when i go through a drive through. the reverb off the building makes it loud as hell lol. i have the updated phasers and it still does it though, nowhere near as bad as before though. i just call it the "triton tick" lol.

if your truck hasnt had em done, should be first on your list to do before you have a dealer or someone start rippin up your motor to try to find it.

put it in park and open the hood and see if you hear anything from around the valve covers like XLT Billy said to do. if you do, then my bet is on your cam phasers.
