I put a Kenwood in mine, I think its a DDX770. Its very slow to get booted up and even slower to link bluetooth phone. Bluetooth audio takes longer yet. Also it has no rear support lug so the plastic mounting frame (Metra) bears all the load. I just had to replace it as the old one failed and the stereo was falling into the hole. Can you owners of Pioneer, JVC and other brands let me know if your stereos have rear mounting supports or not? I can't find anything other than the plastic Metra kit and it isn't up to the task without a rear support.

I'm pulling the trigger on the Pioneer AVH-X2800BS with the Metra install kit, Backup Cam, Parking Brake Bypass, and Auto EQ Microphone for about $280 out the door on Amazon. I really wanted either the more expensive Digital Media Players with Carplay and no disc drive or just an adapter for the stock stereo and iphone. The expensive stereo has iffy reviews, may be too new and not ready for prime time and the adapter is half the price of what I'm going to purchase on Amazon. Pretty excited.

Default Eonon GA5173

Eonon GA5173 Head unit. I felt a little jipped when I saw the GA5173F with quad core proc and Android 4.4.4 but the GA5173 is nice. I like the plug and play drop in and play about it. Asthetically looks just like it came from the factory. The only thing you need to do is take the side ear brackets off your OEM unit and it bolts right up, wires right up. My backup cam had to be spliced in with the purple wire using a positve trigger from the reverse lights but that is because I have a Manly Tranmission not an AutoTragic Trashmission so my CAN BUS does not know nor care what gear I am in. If you have a sissy PRND like yo gramma's Pacer then it is just plug and play no splicing on the head unit.

Boot up takes about 40 sec, But the reverse camera is literally a camera to screen which takes over completely. Does not matter that it is not fully booted up which is more than I could say about the Pioneer App Radio (original) Now, if you immediatly put it in reverse when it does the boot loader screen there will be a freeze pause in what is on the display when it flips from the JellyBean boot loader screen to the actual boot up process screen. By the time I do that it is usually already on the Ford emblem splash boot screen and won't do any pausing in video feed at that point.

Has 1yr warranty from Ebay round $4xx eonon direct has the improved Android 4.4.4 with quad core marked down to $379 or so 2yr warranty. The backup cam was separate around $189 shipped and came with enough wire to wire it up for a Screw with long bed and still a little extra (I'm kidding they didn't make a SCrew with long bed but if they did this would probably fit.

Truck was in reverse park brake set and and engine OFF when my son was back there with foot on the brake.

I have the scoche kit from Walmart. It has worked great, no rear support like someone was asking earlier, but it's as solid as can be.
But, like I said, flip it around. If I remeber correctly, it looked like on the previous page, 08silverbullet's. That gap that doesn't line up flush with the plastic trim panel at the top, and halfway down the sides.

I'm another Pioneer fan. I've got an inexpensive DD unit that is not a touch screen. It has all the features I wanted though like blue tooth, USB, separate microphone, Aux etc. I've got my whole music library on a tiny USB drive that sits flush to the surface of the radio so it looks good. Just for the record I soldered/heat wrapped mine. I think good crimps are fine, but with the motorcycle restoration work I like to do, I decided a while back that learning to solder things was a skill I needed to learn and soldering wires really is a snap. It's not hard at all. Probably added a total of 5 minutes to my install.
