Radio Headaches
Hello F150'ers!
I just purchased a 2006 F150 FX2. The issue I have is with the Media/Entertainment/GPS Center. My truck did not come with any owner's manuals, but I did find one online through Ford. It addresses all the radio, CD. multiple CD, and Syrius Radio instructions, but I do not have any of those radios. I have a central screen that controls the media/radio/GPS. I am looking for instructions for the media center. Any leads? Thanks ahead of time!

You could try to determine the make and model of yours first; and then query the web for its installation instructions. You'll also need the radio wiring diagram for your truck. By comparing these, hopefully it'll be clear how to hookup everything.
Sounds like an aftermarket unit. I don't think there was a factory option for a touchscreen in 2006.
If there's no model number on the front, does it have a tilting screen for the CD slot, look behind there, or as suggested pull it out of the dash and see what the model number is from the sticker on back or top and look up the manual online.

One quick thank you to all who replied to this thread. Some good advice about pulling the unit. Yeah, guys and gals, this has to be aftermarket and when booting up it has a "Ford" screen. I posted this thread in another forum and a guy was able to send me to a site, which had a media center almost exactly like mine, except for the button layout. There is a manual for it so I am hoping there is some cross-over in set-up and operation.
Thanks again!
