Pwr windows seem to be affected by door position won't work with door completely shut but will if door is partly open .any ideas ?

Check in the rubber boot/tube that wires run through between the door and the cab. Constant opening and closing of the door can cause wires to break inside there. Sometimes they will break inside their own sheathing too.

Yup, there is either a frayed or completely cut cable.
My driver side door would do this, but i pulled the rubber tube off and repaired it.
