Putting up pics for the floor shifter swap
Here's where you have to drill the hole for the new shifter cable. Slow as you go with this part...there are fuel lines in the vicinity of where you're drilling and the floors of our trucks are paper thin. I used a nail set to dimple the floor, checked it out from underneath to make sure, drilled a small pilot hole, checked underneath once more to be 100% sure, then finished it off with a hole saw. This was without a doubt the most nerve racking part of the entire swap, once you get past this the rest is a cakewalk.
Take off the flat black plastic piece that goes from the dash to the carpet, it's held on with those plastic push pins. On the driver's side of the tranny hump is where you want to drill. As you can see in the pic on the right side of my son's hand is the heat duct that comes out from the bottom of the dash and eventually branches off and goes under both the driver and passsenger seats. Make a small slice in the carpet where you want to drill and you're off!
Just make sure that when you put the black plastic piece back on it will hide the hole.
