Purchasing a used Edge Evolution Tuner Tips?
Guys,
I found a hell of a deal on a tuner on Craigslist that I'm gonna pick up. I swear I came across a thread on here that had good information on what to look for when purchasing a used one.
I'm looking for that particular thread. (Yes I used the search bar and can't find it for the life of me.)
I'm simply going to meet up with the guy and plug it in to my truck before I pay him to make sure it lights up and connects.
I assume that I only need to be concerned that when it turns on that it has a 0 in the upper right corner right?
Also is there anything else I need to be concerned about and/or does anyone have the link to that thread?
Any input would be grateful.

I don't know anything about the zero thing, but mainly, you just need to make sure it's unlocked. If not, it's $90 to send it to Edge to get reprogrammed.

Have him install it in his truck and have him put it back to stock is all that is needed I think. If I'm incorrect I'm sorry I haven't researched this in a few years but this sounds correct.

I've got two in two different F150s. If it has a 0 in the upper right corner, it is back to stock and unlocked. The last one I purchased was not unlocked. I called Edge and the technician unlocked it over the internet for free. I would suggest you visit Power Hungry Performance and upgrade it to a Gryphon and order a custom tune. I sure enjoy both of mine.

Make sure it's unlocked with the 0 present. When you get it home, update the firmware with Edge's Fusion program or turn it into a Gryphon. I just bought a used Evolution CTS and love it.

I bought mine used as well and the only thing you really need to see is that the upper right hand corner shows a 0 to prove it's unlocked. When I bought mine, I asked the guy if I could hook it up to my truck to make sure it worked with him watching and put the money in his hand.

Thanks guys. I picked it up for $150 bucks, thing looks brand new and was set back to stock. Will have to research in to upgrading it to a gryphon. Right now just using the level 2 tune. Appreciate all the input, even if there's a million threads about this!
