Projector Headlights with HID
#31
Now you can see what some feel so strongly about hids used in an improper design. I am more disappointed then upset that with others sharing this information often we have people that still insist on sticking them in a stock housing. There are some very knowledable people here that are very willing to help, but constantly have to argue with those whom are less knowing/knowledgeable(teenagers is my guess)
We also have once a week where someone asks about housings, they get the same answers on the quality and the fact that they leak. I don't know about you guys, but if you look at my build thread, there isn't much that is not OEM-grade on my truck for a reason. Many cheap aftermarket products are utter trash that are not build to last or manufactured with solid quality controls in place. It is like buying cheap china tools. Yeah, it will work....but for how long?
Again, not hating, not trying to flame, more power to what you do, but this is another perspective as to why some may feel anti the cheap headlights and using a hid bulb in an improper housing.
I'd be more than willing to put together an FAQ thread to cover some of the most asked questions, we could then have 1 thread that has all of the info in 1 location, prob clean up the tire size thread to outline the tire sizes that work on a stock setup, prob a section on general maitnenace on what oils/lube to use, how to program keys/fobs, what bulbs to use, etc. I think this would go a long way to reducing many questions asked over and over and put the facts there for everyone to see to stop the pissing matches on how some members feel on certain topics.

This is not just about HID's but.........
I'd love to see a giant list of part numbers for belts, hoses, plugs, cops, torque converters, brake pads, rotors, fluid types, VCT solenoids, phaser kits, HID's, halogen bulbs, lift kits, driveshafts, double din install kits.... You name it. A huge reference list for part numbers would be a huge help to all of us...

The light can be bright from a halogen bulb, but now throw in something that puts out double the light output and it is like someone is driving around on super high beams. A hid bulb puts out almost double of your halogen high beams. The glare is also obnoxious as all get out.

Go for it, and you can call me an ignorant teenager or whatever, but I'm in a university and work 30 hour weeks. So I can use my money however, and also these aren't $65 headlights, these cost $150 for a reason. If FAQ bothers you that much then make a list but honestly you are over exemplifying a small issue.
I think you totally missed the point of my post...many of threads like this come up often, which is why I was suggesting an FAQ (frequently asked questions). some of the other forums I frequent have these so common topics or information are centralized.
$65 or $150-quality projectors alone cost as much as you will spend on some ebay special housings w/ projectors/leds/cfl's etc, and yes, there is a reason they do...I can't speak about your financial situation nor would I or did I in my post.
It isn't those whom are doing things right and doing them in a long-term quality fashion are trying to talk down to you or beat you over the head, think about it as guiding you to a better choice.
