Question Problems with keyless entry fob

Hi all, let me just say this is my first post and I'm glad to have joined the F150 family!

Recently just bought two new key fobs for my 2005 Lariat. I did the whole "turn the key 8 times" dance and got both programmed easily! Both of them unlocked/locked the truck perfectly.

That was this morning.

Now whenever I use either one of them to lock or unlock, I get a nice long panic alarm. Now I love being blasted in the face with a loud horn as much as the next guy but I think something is wrong.

I've had some issues in the past with the PATS system (hilarious since I've only had the truck for 2-3 days). I'm not really sure what to do at this point.

My god is the horn loud.

I would try the clearing and reprogramming of the key fobs one more time.

When you exit the truck, are you locking with the keyfob?
I've heard cases of when you lock with the door switch, and unlock with the keyfob (or vice versa), the alarm will go off.

It happens whether I lock/unlock using the truck or use the key fob alone

I tried to program both at the same time and faced the same result, nice loud alarm. The strange thing is that I just tried pairing only one fob and now there's no alarm. If I go back to two, the alarm goes off. I am completely stumped.

I guess big blue has a mind of her own.

Truck was serviced at the dealer a day ago. They couldn't find anything wrong with the key fobs.

Absolutely hilarious that it started doing it again this morning. Still no idea what's causing this.

Sounds like you hit the limit of keys that can be programmed, need to clear it and start fresh, have to use a scan tool like NGS or IDS to clear all keys.
