I forgot about the PATS/immobilizer. Does the security light flash rapidly when you turn your key to the ON position?

I'll reconnect everything and give that a try. i didnt notice if it blinked fast or not.

alrighty. ci cleaned up the wires a little bit and tried it again. gave it a little extra charge and it tried to fire up. it ran for a few seconds but it sounds like something is slapping inside the engine.

Is the "slapping" coming from the front of the engine? Maybe hard to tell but I'm thinking maybe timing chain?

Mechanic got back with me. said the rear of one of the camshafts were starving for oil. some followers broke off and a valve dropped into the cylinder.

looks like a new engine..
