Default Probably the trillanth leveling kit thread!

OK so I tried the search feature and it came up with 242 threads. I've been reading for AWHILE now but I haven't found what I was looking for yet. Anyways, I'm about to install a leveling kit and 4wheel parts told me I needed a camber kit. None of the threads I have read mention it for the 04-08's. I've found some that talk about the previous models and the later models. Anyway, any advise would be helpful. Oh my truck is an 07 FX4 its going to have 305/55R20s on it after I install the leveling kit. Sorry last thing they also told me I needed to have the alignment done with the tires I would be running and not the tires I currently have. Is this true?

I have a level installed on my 07 and no camber kit is needed, an alignment is for sure needed tho. You don't want uneven wear on the fresh tires.

Installed a HBS leveling kit a couple weeks ago. No camber kit needed what so EVER. Alignment yes! Depending on the time span between the kit being put on and the new tires I'd get one as soon as its done. Even if I had to pay for 2 alignments.

So does it matter if the alignment is done with the old tires or new tires as long as it is done? I'm just wondering because 4 wheel parts is approx 1 hr away and going to charge 160 where a local shop is only charging 100?

Plain and simple you need an alignment to get the full amount out of the level. Without it, you risk doing damage to your truck.

Roger that I need the alignment done, I understand that. But does it matter if it is with the old tires or new tires? I was planning on installing the leveling kit, going straight to an alignment shop, and then having the new tires put on. 4 wheel parts told me it would make a difference which tires I had on. I may be missing something, but if everything is aligned why would it matter if the the alignment is done with the stock size tires or with the larger tires I'm picking up?

whenever you get new tires you have to get an alignment done regardless if u had one last year or the day before it must be done.

The only time you would need a kit is if your other Cambers are worn out. As far as the alignment, you NEED to have the new tires on there due to the fact taht you are going with larger tires and not stock. When I had my leveling done, I had to drive a few miles with the stock size tires on and I could tell a HUGE difference when i got my new tires and alignment done. If you dont do it with the new tires on, you have a huge chance of your new tires being eaten by the road. You would lose the grand you are puttin on your rims. Trust me, I dropped 1600 on my BFGs and didnt want to risk them wearing wrong.
