Seeking advice on replacing the Tonneau Cover seal on my '07 F150 6.5' bed XLT
It's an ARE LSII. I'm having it repainted after some soup to nuts crazy Robins destroyed the clear coat on one side. (To be fair, it's fifteen years old now...it's probably time...)
Any advice is appreciated. It's the first truck with a Tonneau Cover I've owned, and this is the first time I've taken it off. The first three places I went said to just take the lid off and leave everything else, which seemed a little suspect to me.
I see the spongy foam camper seal out there and I see some very "evolved" looking EPDM Rubber dual rolled edge looking stuff, but I'm reading online that I can't use that for the part that parallels the cab/rear window. Not sure why.
Has anybody done this before? The side rails are not metal, they have the scuff guard PVC (or whatever it is, it's grayish) on the top of the rails.
TIA,
Rick
