Power Steering Leak

Power Steering Leak
Hello all,
I just changed the pressure and return lines on my 08 F150 FX4 due to a line that was rusted through, and I have a leak on the hose-to-rack fitting. I would really like to avoid starting over, since this took me a week to complete due to work. I'm not sure if there is anything I could add to the return line to stop the leaking (it's a steady drip, but not a fast leak)? I'm not at all familiar with these push-in fittings, but I don't think I can tighten the bolt any more without stripping it. TIA

Hello, rslgtown
I'm not familiar with that end of the power steering system (yet). I'm just about to hook up the high pressure hose to the pump. (both hose and pump are original. I had to take the pump out for access to exhaust header bolts.)
But previous hydraulic system experience says if o-rings are involved in the seal they need to be replaced if several years old and clean when installed. I never heard of using leak stop in p/s fluid so I think you need to pull the line and replace the seal ring or o-ring.
Hope that helps,
Hugh

I have added Lucas power steering stop leak to my system with great results.. although it was a very small leak, it stopped it.
