Default 2001 Ford F150 Lariat - same problem

Well... I'm having the exact same problem with my 2001 Ford F150, which I just bought 2 weeks ago. Although my truck is older, do you think the suggestions apply to this truck too? My power driver seat tilts back, but does not go forward or backward. I can hear it working. The pedal does not work at all. Therefore, being 5'2" I cannot reach the gas/brake comfortably. The side mirrors tilt from side to side, and down, BUT NOT up.

I have these same syptoms, but can't find fuse #3 ( 5 amp). I have a 2005 king ranch, and only the drivers memory seat, mirror adjust and pedals ( i think ) are affected. I looked up the appropriate fuse location and there is no wires or fuse connected to the block at that location. I am the original owner and tested all of the 5Amp fuses in the block. I will look for the defective splice. Are there any factory notices about this issue?

I purchased my truck just over a year and a half ago and this was a problem. The PO took it to the Ford Dealer who "fixed" it for a couple hundred bucks as a part of the deal for me to buy the truck. Not sure when it stopped working again but the other day I tried to adjust my seat and it didn't work.

After reading this forum, I dug into it and 15 min later it was fixed. Such an easy fix. I put heat shrink over my solder to ensure future corrosion isn't an issue. I also noticed the garbage job that was done tidying up the wires so I cleaned those up too.

Excellent write up. I'm so glad this was a common problem and an easy fix. Cheers!

Default Same issue can’t find splice

My driver seat goes up and down but not forward.

Any ideas?

I have a 2008 FX4 supercab ... power driver's seat goes up and down fine... but is intermittently slow forward and backward. I searched for the infamous corroded orange and green/orange and brown splice, but could not find the splice. The Orange/green and Orange/Brown just go up into the wire bundle.

The forward and reverse motor works, but only in short increments - about an inch at a time and then starts whining and then stops. After about 10 min, if I try it again, it will run again for another inch or so, then stop. After about ten try's, I was able to get the seat all the way forward.

Any recommendations on a possible fix appreciated!

Is it possible your tracks need cleaning and lubrication?

Read through another thread where disassembly/lube/reassembly helped... The way the motor is binding after a few seconds of running, sounds like a gear or something is wore out!

Not blowing any fuses... but once it stops running I disengage power!
